Celebrity Christening: Isla Elizabeth Phillips

Christening InvitesZara Phillips last week attended her niece's christening. The accomplished sportswoman took valuable time out from her Olympic training schedule for the ceremony of three-month-old Isla Elizabeth Phillips, the second daughter of her brother Peter and his wife Autumn, and 13th in line to the British throne. Zara was accompanied to the christening by her husband Mike Tindall, while her mother Princess Anne attended with Commander Tim Laurence. We're pretty certain that Peter and Autumn would have had to arrange the christening of their daughter so that it didn't conflict with the Olympic Games and would have sent out the christening invites for their little one in plenty of time so that everyone was able to plan to attend. For christening invites for your little one, click here to take a look at our online range. Zara, who has been picked for one of the five spots in the British eventing team at the games, recently revealed she has decided not to attend the Olympic opening ceremony because she wants to instead focus on her training regime. She explained: "I would rather get on with my competition than go to the opening ceremony." The down to earth granddaughter of the Queen also said she is looking forward to staying in the Athletes' Village with all of the other competitors. She said: "In the past the equestrian has been based quite far out and this time they have made a big effort to have it as part of the Olympics and really nearby , so it will be great to have the atmosphere and benefit from that." Zara has been chosen for Team GB's eventing squad alongside William Fox-Pitt, Mary King, Piggy French and Tina Cook.

Celebrity Wedding: Jade Jagger

Celebrity Wedding Guest BooksThe wedding season is officially in full swing - and celebrities are no exception. Last week, Jade Jagger married her DJ fiancee Adrian Fillary in Oxfordshire and wore a DIY dress! With a guest list which sounds like a who's who in the worlds of fashion and music (we can only imagine what the celebrity wedding guest books looked like!) forty year-old Jade opted for a very simple, scoop-neck white gown which she had designed herself. A little sprinkling of diamonds in her strap clasps, earrings and watch made for an elegantly classic way to accessorise. Simple white flowers placed in her hair secured Jade's place as the ultimate boho bride. Jade's mother Bianca steered clear from plain and simple and made a bold statement for her only daughter's wedding. The sixty-seven year-old chose a black flower-textured jacket with matching skirt from Dolce & Gabbana. She topped off the slightly severe look with plain white gloves and a feathered an asymmetrical hat. Kate Moss's daughter Lila was a flower girl for the ceremony and Kate herself wore a midi-length Alexander McQueen dress. Jade's musician father Sir Mick looked rather dapper in a lilac striped suit - and he is rumoured to have performed at the after-party. We would eat our right arm to have a look at the comments left in those celebrity wedding guest books!

Get Organised and Save the Date

Save the date MagnetsChoosing the perfect stationery for your wedding is more important than you might think - after all, it is the stationery which is the first insight into your big day that most of your guests will see. Be smart and use your wedding stationery to set the tone for your big day. If your wedding is going to be an understated and elegant affair, then opt for understated and elegant save the date magnets instead of cards to set the tone. Sending out save the date magnets instead of cards is a really unique idea - and one that is sure to be a hit with your guests. When sending out your save the date magnets, there are certain rules that you should try to follow. You should always try to send out your save the date magnets by post. This makes it more official and sets the right tone for a formal and elegant wedding day. Alternatively, if you are having a very informal and more laid-back day, you might want to hand out your save the date magnets personally and use the opportunity to chat to your intended guests about your wedding plans. Try not to leave this task until the very last minute. The sooner that you send out your save the date magnets, the better - ensuring that your guests get your wedding date in their diaries.

What's Uncle Jack doing in the Chocolate Fountain???

Wedding Photo AlbumsIf you been to a wedding before, you may have noticed that some couples place disposable cameras onto the guest's tables for the wedding breakfast or on the bar for the evening reception. They are put there for the guests to take informal pictures on behalf of the bride and groom - and in addition to the office photos taken by the wedding photographer. Allowing guests to take wedding pictures means that the bride and groom can get the informal perspective of the wedding, and capture all of the 'behind the scenes' goings-on which often happens at weddings (uncle Jack tripping and landing in the chocolate fountain anyone?) Once all of the cameras has been used, they will be collected at the end of the night and then taken to be developed (usually be a designated person while the bride and groom honeymoon). Upon their return, they will have hundreds of photos which they can then go through and decide on which ones to keep, which ones to post on Facebook, and which to get rid of (backs of heads, floor shots, etc - they do happen!) The only thing left to do is for the newlyweds to purchase some gorgeous wedding photo albums which they can show off all of their photos in. They may choose to buy albums which match the rest of their wedding stationery, or generous guests may have already anticipated the amount of photos they are going to have and bought their gorgeous wedding photo albums for them as a gift.

Forgotten Something?

SaveTheDateWhen you have taken months (or possibly even years) to plan and prepare for your wedding day, it is so important that you give all your special guests as much chance as possible to be there for your big day. One way of doing this is by sending out save the date cards. When you have been building up to that very special moment in your life for so long and with so much excitement, it can be all too easy to forget about sending out save the date cards. You might have got everything from the invites to the thank you cards, but in all the excitement may have left out that very first bit of wedding stationery - oops! If you are having to back-track, don't panic as our co-ordinating ranges mean that you can get all of your matching stationery at any time. We would always advise sending out save the date cards at least one year in advance of your wedding date, but better late than never we say!

Celebrity Wedding Bells: Brad and Angelina

WeddingInviteAngelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s upcoming wedding is one of most highly anticipated celebrity events on this year's calendar. Who will be invited? What will the celebrity wedding invitations look like?? What will she wear??? Despite intense speculation that the couple would marry at their home in France, it is now rumoured that the couple will get wed in New Orleans, and the florists and caterers have already been booked for it to take place before the end of the year! It would certainly be a lot easier for Brad and Angelina’s A-list guests to journey cross-country rather than half way around the world. Close pals such as George Clooney, Quentin Tarantino and Tilda Swinton can simply hop on a plane from Los Angeles and be there in a matter of hours. It is thought that Brad’s brother Doug will perform the best man duties, and that the couple’s six children are expected play a big part on the day itself. Just imagine, three gorgeous girls as bridesmaids and the three boys as page boys - too cute!04 We are waiting for that celebrity wedding invitation to drop through the door any day now...

Wedding Photos - Just Cheaper!

WeddingPhotoAlbumIf you can’t afford a professional photographer for your wedding day, why not buy some lovely wedding photo albums to match the rest of your wedding stationery and then fill it with photos taken by your friends and family! As well as being a far cheaper option than the many hundreds (and even thousands in some cases) it takes to hire an official photographer, giving your loved ones the task of capturing memories from your special day will make them feel like they've been a real part of your big day. And let's not forget the types of photos that you'll get from their efforts! All the backstage goings-on will be revealed in their candid snaps - from grandma losing her teeth in the punch to the kids throwing some shapes on the dance floor...everything will be revealed once you get the pictures! Most guests will bring their own cameras and camera phones to your wedding but you can always buy some disposable cameras too and save your guests the expense of having the photos developed. If you do choose to fill your lovely wedding photo albums in this way, make sure you put a note in with the wedding favours asking people to send their photos onto you (digitally is good) or designate a bridesmaid or groomsman to be in charge of collection up all the disposable cameras at the end of the night. For just a fraction of the price of a professional photographer you will have some amazing pictures from your special day.

Three Ideas for 21st Birthday Invitations

The 21st birthday is a big celebration around the UK and the world. The 21st year has a route in history as being the year you get the “key to the door” and when people official became adults and gained a number of rights. While this is not the case now, it is still a big event and milestone and making your own 21st birthday invitations is definitely something worth considering.

There are a number of ideas to make your invites to your 21st birthday special and personalised, which is the reason to opt for making your own. Here are just some ideas that you can choose:

Add a Picture of Yourself

When it comes to making the invitations more personalised, adding a photo of yourself is a great option. Pick the best photo you have and place that on the front of the invite, or somewhere near the top depending on the style you choose. This makes it much easier for your guests to realise who the party is for.

Use Pictures to Say Everything

Instead of writing the place where the event will take place and the date and time, it may be worth using pictures to tell the story. You could take snapshots of yourself holding signs with all the information or have it written in sand. Doing this will make your 21st birthday invitations unique and memorable.

Send Emil Invites

Who said that invites has to be sent physically? With the growth of social media and email, it makes sense to use technology to do everything for you. The benefit of email invites is that they can sing and dance to tell your guests about your party. Emailing also makes it easier for guests to put the dates in their calendar and respond quickly to the invite. The above are just three ideas that you could use for your 21st birthday invitations but there are many more. The trick is to think about your guests and your personality. It is worth making your invites stand out but you also need to add your own personality in there.
