The latest trends in wedding invites
Here at The Card Gallery we like to keep our fingers on the pulse. We realise that the right invites will be a very personal thing but that doesn’t mean you can’t keep an eye on wider trends, so we thought we’d take a look at the latest trends in wedding invites to give you a bit of inspiration:
- The invitation that tells a story. The storyteller invite adds an even more personal touch, and it injects a sense of humour into things too—it’s a chance to tell the story of how you met and what your life has been like before going into the details of the wedding, letting your personality really shine through for a truly unique result.
- The minimalist look. Contemporary, minimalist invitations are growing in popularity—they’re sleek, sophisticated and understated, being ideal for modern couples or for contemporary weddings that are taking a distinctly “less is more” approach.
- The arty invite. If you’ve got an arty side you’ll want to bring it out in your invitations, and luckily there are plenty of options to consider when it comes to this look. You could go folksy, crafty or all-out fine art, creating invitations that perfectly reflect your style.
- The unusual material. You don’t have to stick to plain old paper, with a big trend being invites crafted from (or joined by) unusual materials—wood carvings and handkerchiefs are popular options, being a great alternative to traditional invites and adding a sense of charm into proceedings.
- The DIY invitation. The DIY invite adds an extra personal touch and can be perfect for vintage-inspired weddings or even for couples that are on a bit of a budget, letting you put your own stamp on things for a truly bespoke result.
