It can be difficult knowing what to put in a funeral thank you card after the funeral or death of one of your loved ones.

For Their Attendance

Saying thank you to someone for attending a funeral isn't necessary, but if you do want to show your appreciation then a card is a great way.

"It was lovely to see you at 's funeral. You were a wonderful friend to her and I know she would want us to thank you for your support."

"Thank you so much for attending 's funeral – we know you had to travel a long way and we are so grateful that you could make it."

Many people bring flowers to a funeral, so thank them with a personalised card. Here are some wording examples:

For a Donation

Instead of gifts at a funeral, you may ask attendees for charity donations. Say 'thank you' with one of these lovely messages:
